For this one night

As promised, here are the layouts I made last night. Like I said, I got a lot done. I guess that's the point of crops. No kids, boyfriends, tv, phone ringing to get your distracted. *ha ha*

I used my new butterfly punch from Martha Stewart and I love it. Not the best picture of me, but it's the only one I had in my photo stash. The papers are from My Mind's Eye and the paper with the type on it is from a vintage book of Supreme Court cases. (We laughed about that book ALL night long!!)
I took lots of pictures when I saw American Idols Live! with my mom. These are of Carly Smithson. I haven't done the journaling on this yet, but when I do it will be on the upper left.

More from American Idols Live! These are of David Cook.
I love these pictures of me and Brian at the OU game last weekend. Journaling will go in the upper left corner. I decided to be non-traditional and use turquoise, pink, red and green for the layout instead of crimson and cream. I figured that there was enough of that in the pictures. My new job as an EMT is very important to me. So, I decided it was deserving of a layout. Here I have pictures of my license, my EMT friends and the Paramedic action figure I made for Brian along with my EMT patch and some journaling.

Some Scrappin' Fun

Last night Kim and I went to a crop at Just 4 Keeps. We had a great time! There were tons of talented ladies there, each working on their projects, chatting, laughing an eating Oreo cake (mmm! It looked so good!)

Kim worked on baby shower invitations and, let me tell you, they are precious. I focused on my pictures since I haven't had time to scrap in what seems like forever. I was so productive. I made 8 layouts! I'll post pictures later this afternoon, so make sure you check back.

I'm in the mood to get my hair colored. I seriously need it. I'm thinking about going darker. We'll see.

Oh Happy Day

Had a great day today with my friend Kim. We met up at The Rink Gallery for some "junkin" and found a few treasures. I got a wooden letter "H" and the number "4". I also found some vintage buttons on old button cards. I even got my sugar booger a little present. When I told him that I was going antiquing today he said, "What are you going to get me?". Oooohhhh, ask and you shall receive my friend. I had to find something obnoxious for him. I got him a porcelain bunny rabbit that has a flower petal on its head and I told Kim, "I can't wait to watch him pretend to like this!"

We ran up north for lunch. Nikkolette's! TO DIE FOR. I got their Michaelangelo sandwich, smoked turkey, peppered bacon, lettuce, tomato, honey mustard and plum mustard on foccacia bread. SOOO yummy. We decided to be naughty girls and get dessert too, I had a brownie. MMM! It was a fantastic lunch.

I had to run my the ambulance service and drop off my driver's license so they could make copies of it. Kim watched the monitor showing where all of the ambulances were in the city. It's pretty sweet.

Finally we went to Brian's house. I wanted Kim to meet him, since she hasn't met him yet. Plus, I wanted to see his face when I gave him such a silly gift. He was completely gracious though, "Oh. Wow. This is......*pause*.......great." ha ha ha ha ha. He's such a cutie.

That's pretty much it for my exciting day. I had a great time with Kim. She's so fun. We're cropping tomorrow night, so exprect some pictures!

XO!

Success

Remember how I've been working out to lift the 85lbs for my physical before I could start my new job? Well, I did it!

I went to th physical therapist's office this morning and lifted the weight and I passed this time. SO excited about that. So, I'm officially in the academy for October. Yay!

I didn't substitute teach today and I'm not planning on subbing tomorrow. Kim and I are going to have a Girl's Day. Lunch and then hitting some garage sales. Sounda like my kind of day, right? Hopefully we can find some treasures.

I seriously can't believe I lifted the weight. I'm still in awe about it. This time next month I'll be running mega codes, learning protocols, driving and mapping. Whew. It's going to be quite an undertaking, but I know I can do it.

Happy Thursday!

9.10.2008

What's new Pussycat? Woah woah woah.

I've stil been substitute teaching. Some days are gret and others are just "blah". Last week I spent 2 days at the middle school and 1 day at the high school. This week I've been at the middle school again and yesterday I was back at the high school again. Today.....2nd grade. Let me just say this, I love kids. Really I do. However, I do not particularly enjoy an army of 25 2nd graders. Not my idea of fun exactly. Luckily, this is just a half day (11:30-2:45) so I'm sure I'll survive.

I've still been working out like crazy training to do my lifting for the new job. I have to lift 85lbs 48" high. Last night I did it! Finally! And not only that, but I did it not 1, not 2, but 3 times! Woo hoo!

Sooner Nation

Friday night my Sassy friend, Corrine called me while Brian and I were at Wal-Mart picking up goodies to take to Jessica's for Couple's Night with her and Chris. She offered me her tickets to OU's game against Cincinnati. We didn't have anythin planned, so we were happy to use the tickets for her. (Thanks Corrine! You are such a sweetie pie!)

Brian and I had a great time! We parked about a mile away and walked to the stadium and chatted about how great the game was going to be. It was a beautiful day. Mid 80's and a nice breeze.

Here we are in the stadium. Do we look excited? Go Sooners!

About 45 minutes until kickoff. Players warming up on the field and cheerleaders jumping around.
So excited. Yay!
Right after OU's first touchdown 2 minutes into the game. I looove that big OU flag.
Check out that new scoreboard. And look at that sea of crimson and cream!

We had a great time. OU won. I got to spend time with my sweetie. The only down side was that we got pretty sunburned. Boo.

9.03.2008

Whew

I survived my first day of substitute teaching. Let's just say Special Education is not for me. I have a new found respect for those teachers. I, for one, enjoy my personal space. I had kids climbing on me, and touching me ALL day long. Not my kind of thing.

Gonna go work out tonight. It's chilly and cold (darn you Gustav)!!!

9.02.2008

Again...

So...tomorrow I start substitute teaching again. Well, for a month before I start my EMT job. I'm a little excited and a little nervous, kind of like the first day of school all over again. Except this time I'm the boss and not the one getting bossed. Ha ha ha.

I've already ransacked my closet looking for the "perfect" outfit. Something that doesn't scream "grown up" but nothing too low cut and revealing either, gotta keep it G rated. I decided on jeans, a brown tank top, and a cream colored cardigan with my brown flip flops. I'll probably wear my hairup in a loose clip and accessorize with turquoise jewelry. Yea, that sounds good.

Brian is already giving me hell about the cardigan. "A cardigan? Really? That's about as sexy as Mr. Rogers". Yes, I believe those were his exact words. Honey, I'm working with middle school kids tomorrow, I'm not supposed to be sexy. Silly boy.

The weightlifting is coming along slowly. I filled my milk crate with 85lbs of rocks this evening and attempted to lift it. Whew! Talk about a feat. I gave it several attempts but finally broke down in tears. I have to do this. I have to. Brian has been really supportive and is my own personal cheerleader (minus the pom poms and short skirt) always encouraging me. He's such a sweetie. That's why I keep him around.

Well, that and his mad Nintendo Wii skills.

9.01.2008

A day with my Sugar Booger

Brian came over today and it was so nice to see him. We hung out here for a while and then headed to Mustang so he could meet my best friend, Jessica. We hung out at her place for a little bit and then went to Wal-Mart so he could get some energy drinks for work tonight.

But wait, Brian doesn't work on Mondays....

Well, tonight he does. His co-worker, Stephanie, called and wanted to trade shifts with him. He's work the night shift (12a-8a) and he'd give her his Friday evening shift (4p-12a). He was unsure about it to begin with, but after some coaxing from me he decided to do it. Heck, that means he'd have a 4 day weekend!! (Off on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday). Once I pointed that out, he decided that switching would be a grand idea. See Brian, you need me, admit it. Poor guy will get off at 8am and have to be at work again at 4pm, but the station where he is working tomorrow is the least busy and he'll either run no calls or 1 at the most, so he can snooze most of the shift anyway.

I'm currently addicted to watching "Diners Drive Ins and Dives" on the Food Network. I love it. It's so cool to see the quality food that is in little dive restaurants today. Just goes to show you that you can't judge a book by its cover.

Gonna go to bed now. Maybe I can catch a little nap before Brian calls on his way to work.

8.29.2008

Idols Live!

Did I mention that my mom got us tickets to see the American Idols Live tour? It was last night and the show was AMAZING and our seats wee phenomenal. Seriously. Wow.

Davd Cook....
Michael Johns singing Queen's "We Are the Champions"
Kristy Lee Cook...
Sayesha sang Rhianna's "Umbrella" and it was so wonderful. Love that song!
Carly Smithson...
David Archuletta...

Brooke White. She played barefoot.
Jason Castro...

Weekend Events

Hope you had a great weekend. Brian and I spent the day together yesterday, I was in serious need of some time with him. I will say that the one complaint I have is that we only get to see each other once a week, sometimes twice a week if he happens to bring a patient into the ER. So, spending time together is definitely on my "to-do" list all the time.

So, Sunday.... we saw Pineapple Express. It was alright. It was your typical Seth Rogan 'lots of pot' funny movie. It had its funny parts, but you might want to just hold out and wait until it comes out on TV. It wasn't anything fantastic. Seeing it once is enough, so don't expect me to be buying it when it comes out on DVD.

After the movie we headedto Norman to play basketball with Brian's friend, James. I'm not very coordinated and I don't particularly enjoy basktball. We played for about 2 hours. I was hot, tired and sweaty. Gross.

Finally, we stopped at Wal-Mart, picked up some Smirnoff and went back to his place to relax and watch another movie (this time, I picked). I learned that he gives AMAZING back rubs, so I'll be taking advantage of that more often. *ha ha*

8.21.2008

New Stuff....

I've gotten some new stuff lately and thought I'd give you a little peek....

This beauty came from the Cloverleaf. Isn't is precious? The vintage roses are sooo pretty. My National Registry certificate. SOOO proud of this! It will soo be hanging on my wall.
A sweet little gift from the wonderful Natalie Hansen! "Sooner Bella"
Look at what I made today! I painted the canvas, made the flowers and the flower pot out of scraps added some pom fringe and Voila!

Feelin' the Burn

Another day of workouts yesterday and today I can officially say that I am sore. I fought a good fight with the weight machine, but he won.

My pecs are sore. My biceps are sore. I hurt.

My aunt and uncle were in town yesterday and spent the night, but left early this morning. We had a nice time seeing them and they'll be here on their way back through next week. We ordered pizza ( a nice post-workout dinner, don't-cha think?) Then the ladies went to Hobby Lobby and back home to watch the Olympics.

I think Brian and I are playing basketball today and then maybe watching a movie. He's the BEST person to watch movies with. He's apartment hunting today with his friend Matt. So, maybe they'll find something good.

It's 12:42 and I'm just now crawling out of bed and functioning for the day. I should go get ready.

8.19.2008

The Day After...

Surprisingly enough, I'm not the least bit sore from my workout yesterday. Crazy. I'm looking forward to workout #2 tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, my favorite Aunt and Uncle are coming. Todd and Cindy live in Texas and they're passing through on their way to South Dakota. Then they'll be back again on their way back to Texas.

Last night Brian and I watched "O Brother Where Art Thou" and I loved it. It was my first time seeing it. I love that it is loosely based on The Odyssey, which is one of my favorite works of literature.

8.18.2008

Training: Day 1

Started training today with my friends Cary and Kathy. Cary is a master work out guy. I did several exercises to build my upper body strength. I feel great right now, but tomorrow I'm sure I'll be wanting to chop off my arms. Ha ha.

I went back by the physical therapist's office today to talk about lifting techniques with him. He was really helpful. He even said I could lift the weights to waist height, then put them on a chair and reposition my hands and lift from my waist up to the 48" mark. Why didn't you tell me that on Thursday? Punk.

I'm going to Brian's tonight to watch movies with him. I saw him briefly yesterday. I stopped by the Moore station to surprise him with a Mt. Dew. He's so sweet. I hate that we don't get to see eachother more often, but with his work schedule and my work schedule right now, it's not working. The good news is that for a while I'll have Mondays off so we can spend those days together.

Better get going, I'm still in my work out clothes. I'm debating on if I want to look nice for movie night or if I'm just going to go over to his place in my work out clothes. Hmmm....decisions, decisions.

8.17.2008

Workin' Out

Good morning. Happy Sunday!

Got some news about my job on Friday. I won't be in the September academy, but I'll be in the October one if I pass my physical. I went to the physical therapist's office on Thursday to take the physical tests. Jumping, climbing, pushing, pulling, gripping, etc. I did great....except for one little skill.

Lifting. The last skill is lifting a milk crate with 85lbs of weights in it 48". Keep in mind that I'm 5'3". Not the tallest of people. 48" comes up to my armpits. I got it almost there, but not quite. So, my job called me back and said that I didn't meet the physical requirements for the job. I was so upset. I called Brian at work crying. I've loaded people unto ambulances before. I can do this. I know I can.

So, the woman called me back and told me that I could re-do that portion of the test in a month and if I pass it, then I'll be in the October academy. So, between now and the 2nd week in September I am on a mission to lift those weights.

We went to my neighbor's house last night to grill out and have drinks by the pool while we watched the Olympics. (They have an amazing back yard patio area with 2 flat screens, fans, a bar, etc. AWESOME). They asked me if I had tested yet and how that was going. I told them about the lifting part. Cary said, "I can get you there. Come work out with me." Then he brings me to this other room in his house and it's a FULL gym. Treadmill. Weights. and a ton of other machines that I have no idea how to even use. So, I'm putting my hopes and dreams for being an EMT into Cary's hands and I'm trusting that he'll get me where I need to be to kick ass. We're going to start tomorrow and I am so excited.

That's pretty much it for news with me. I have to work this afternoon from 4p-2a. So, I'm on a mission to stay in my pajamas all day until I have to get ready for work. Nice, huh?

Enjoy!

--I have an irrational fear of large things hanging over my head. I can't go to aerospace museums where there are space things over my head. Or when the fair used to have the airplaces on those giant concrete pedestals and you could walk under them. No no no way.
--I have never eaten seafood. It looks weird. It smells weird. No thanks.
--I love cleaning but only if I get to use Pine Sol. There's just something about that sent that makes me WANT to clean.
--I get ultra peeved when people mix up their/there/they're and to/too/two. Seriously. Didn't you learn that in 3rd grade?
--I love pretty pens. The finer the better.

Hmmm....who to tag next? Kim Walker! You're it!

Update

I got the job.

Without naming names....I now work for the largest ambulance service in Oklahoma. *wink wink*

I start the Academy on September 2nd. It will last about a month. We'll run codes, protocols, learn the radio, geography and street mapping and how to drive the ambulance. Whee! I am so excited.

I put in my 2 weeks at the hospital last night and I am so ready to start my new job!

My friend Jason who was in my Basic class with me got hired too, so now I'll know someone else in the academy.

8.12.2008

Wanna know a secret?

Guess who has a job interview today?

Yup, I do.

I am so very excited about this place.

8.11.2008

Bitten by the Craftin' bug...

Had a tiny bit of free time this weekend, so I managed to make a few goodies. Tags, teal cardstock, Twinkle Type, Prima flowers and pom fringe make this banner super sweet. I plan on putting this on a ribbon, but for now, it's at home on my bulletin board. Notice those darling buttons? I had a few spare thumbtacks around here, so used Diamond Glaze to adhere them and they make the cutest push pins.

Another one of my layouts from the EMT class. I should explain the Mini Van Mafia to you. Since we were the only 4 girls in the class, we hung out a lot. We'd go out for lunch and we'd take Val's van. So, all the boys in class were piling into their trucks and the 4 of us would get in the van and go to lunch. So, we nicknamed ourselves the Mini Van Mafia.
No picture on this page yet, but it's one of my favs. I'm all about COLOR right now. Bright colors. Pink. Teal. Green. Black and White. Love love love.

8.10.2008

Happy Sunday

No special occasion for the flowers, just saw a photo and thought they were bea-u-tiful.
Hope I can find some scrappin' time today. My little precious Maggie has been having seizures lately. 2:00am, 5:00am, 8:00am, and as recently as 1:45pm. Talked to my uncle who is a vet and he basically just said to keep her comfortable while she's seizing. We're taking her in tomorrow so see about getting her on some meds. She's such a cute little thing. It's so sad and scary to see her going through these violent episodes.
I'm still sick and unfortunately Brian is too. Poor thing. Hopefully we'll be back to normal soon.
Also, this week, I'm hoping to hear back from the 2 ambulance services I applied at. I really really want to get a job working on a truck. We'll see. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

8.09.2008

Does it get any better?

My friend Natalie from Life is a Collage http://nataliehansen.typepad.com/lifeisacollage/ chose my number and I won one of her beautiful "bella" charms.

Since I'm a huge OU fan, I chose "Sooner Bella" as my Bella name. Fitting huh? I will admit, I was torn between "Sooner Bella" and "EMT Bella" now that I'm officially an EMT now.

Not much else planned for the weekend. I need to clean up around here. With all the studying I did these past 2 weeks, I let my cleaning go. So, hopefully I can get back on track.

I also filled out a few applications last night. Let's see if I can work on an ambulance now....*wink*

8.08.2008

08.08.08

As I arrived at the testing center the paranoia kicked in and my stomach started to tumble. I feel like I'm here to do battle. They WANT to fail me and I will need to fight like hell to even have a chance.
I know it's irrational, but thats what I think. I'm not a fighter by nature, but this time, bring it on, lets get to it. It's either you or me NREMT.
70 questions later I walk out the door wondering how long it will be before I can reschedule. It was a good fight but I think they got me. A cheap shot indeed, but I think they got me. No matter, we'll fight again and things will be very different.
Called Brian on the drive home. Crying. He's reassuing, "I'm sure you did great". I know it will be at least 1-2 days before I will know the results of the fight. I was bloody, bruised and tired but I thought I got a few good shots in too. I might not have won, but that test would know he was in a fight tomorrow.
I got home. Said hi to the family. Went to bed. Tossed and turned. Cried some more. Prayed. Tossed and turned again.
8:00am the next morning....Results are in. I passed! The test rolled over and showed me its belly! I may be broken up and bruised but...
I'm an EMT.

8.07.2008

Nervous Nancy

I'm so nervous I can barely stand it. I took my EMT test today and it was HARD. Wicked wicked hard. I feel really unsure about it. I'm just praying and praying that I passed it. I'll be so sad if I didn't pass. I studied my booty off and for me not to pass would suck really bad.

I called Brian afterwards and told him all about it. He kept saying "I'm sure it's fine. You did fine." Yea. We'll see.

I'm not a patient person. I ha te waiting. It's agonizing for me. But most of all, I will be so embarrassed if I didn't pass.

So, if you're the praying type, I could use some happy thoughts and prayers.

I'll let you know what happens.

8.06.2008

New Layouts

*gasp* It's seriously been forever since I've had time to scrap. Well, with my 3 weeks off from school I've had a little bit of free time to do some scrappin and boy let me tell you, it has been SOOO nice! I've bought a new toy, the Fiskars scallop border punch. It is awesome.

First up, my most favorite picture of me and Brian. Black cardstock, pink scalloped paper, green HS flower, mini clock, and a "2" Twinkle Type letter. I plan on adding some journaling underneath the photo, just not sure what I want it to say yet.
Close up of the clock and the glittered "2".
I took a TON of pictures from my EMT class. This is from the day we dressed up in the moulage (fake wounds) and had to treat each other. Very fun times!
I'm loving the way I did the title at the bottom. Offset slightly with uppercase and lowercase letters and a few swirl rubons for decoration. Plus, did you notice the scallops? Yup, I'm officially obsessed.

Hope you enjoyed a little peek into my creative world lately. Let's just hope I get a few more days of creative-ness.

8.05.2008

It's been 17 days and I'm still sick. I finally went to the doctor again yesterday. You know what? I tested positive for Mono. Yup. I'm sick. Boo! *hiss*

I immediately called Brian to inform him that he is now a carrier of mono. *giggles* Poor guy. As soon as I told him he said, "You know, I do have a scratchy throat and I feel mucous-y". Mucous-y - my new favorite word. Then we proceeded to have a 5 minute conversation on the color and consistency of mucous and what illness that can indicate. See? That's why I like him. You could only have that kind of conversation with someone else who works in the medical field. I don't think your lawyer/accountant/banker/engineer boyfriend would want to hear you talk about mucous. Ha ha ha.

I'm taking my EMT test on Thursday and I am SO excited for it. I'll find out Friday if I passed. I've taken about a million practice tests online and I am READY. Then, I'm going to apply for some EMS jobs around here. That's the plan anyway.

If I can ever get over this darn mono. Seriously. It's kicking my butt right now. Mono - 1 Holly - 0.

7.30.2008

Workin Girl

Whew! Who works 40 hour weeks? Seriously. This stuff is for the birds.

Since I'm off school for a few weeks I decided to pick up a few extra shifts at the hospital. I worked Monday and Tuesday. I also work today and Saturday. Whew! It'll be a nice check though, let me tell ya.

I also got cleared to take my EMT written exam. I'm scheduled to take it on August 7th (next Thursday) at 5:15. Once I pass that, then I'm going to start looking for a job at an ambulance service. I love the ER, don't get me wrong, but driving to Norman is killing me in gas. Whew.

Brian is off on Friday too, so we're going to try to do something fun. *yay*

7.26.2008

The Wedding...

As promised, here's a picture of us at the wedding. Check out my smokin' hot hair 'do. Yup, awesome isn't it?

But seriously, the wedding was nice. Very sweet. Brian looked like a total stud.

Sorry Kim, I wasn't about to get a standing up picture of the two of us. They took pictures from table to table and this was as good as I could get.

Tomorrow we're going to see Step Brothers with Will Ferrell and John C. Reily. I also talked him into going antiquing with me. What a lucky girl I am, right?!?!

Saturday

Brian's best friend is getting married today. We've known about this for months. However, he never mentioned anything to me about going. Brian is the best man. I just figured that he'd be busy with best man stuff and I wouldn't have anyone to sit with, so I never really for my feelings hurt that he didnt' ask me to go with him. So, like a typical man waiting until the last minute, on Thursday night Brian says, "Will you go to Jeff's wedding with me?"
Woah. Woah. Wait a minute here. You mean, I only have a day and a half to get ready for this thing? After my EMT practical yesterday, I came home and crashed. (I'm still voiceless, by the way) Around 5, I finally decided to seek some medical attention and I booked it to Mercy After Hours. They diagnosed me with severe laryngitis. I got a shot of Decadron (steroid) in the hip and put on aintibiotics. I'm feeling better, but my voice is still pretty much non-existant.
Then I dragged my mom to the mall with me to find something to wear. I got these black dress capris and a slack satin top. It's SO pretty. Love it. I made a hair appointment this afternoon and got a cut and style. So, now I'm looking extra hot! *lol*
I can't wait to see Brian all dressed up in his tux tonight. Awww! Expect pictures soon!

7.25.2008

Finally

I PASSED!!!!

I'd love to party tonight, but I've been sick all week and this morning I woke up with NO voice. Seriously. As you can imagine, getting through all of my practical today sucked since I have to verbalize pretty much everything. I even had one evaluator try to fail me because he couldn't hear me. Yea, that got taken care of VERY quickly. I pitched a fit about that and you know what? I won.

7.24.2008

on my mind....

Just popping in here for a quick little hello before the big test tomorrow.

My mind is racing 100 miles an hour with information....apnea, using the AED, splinting, inserting airway adjuncts, suction, medical assessment, trauma assessment, backboarding patients, compression ratios, assessing pulse motor and sensory functions. Whew!

Anyway, I'm nervous/excited about it and I'm just ready to be done with it all. Ha ha.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Hopefully I'll have some exciting news to share with you soon!

7.22.2008

It's about that time...

This week is a stressful one, that's for sure. Practice. Practice. Practice. Practice. I'm taking my National Registry Skills Test on Friday. Whew! BVM, AED, Spinal Immobilization, Rapid Trauma Assessment, Medical Assessment, Oropharyngeal Airway Adjunct, Nasopharyngeal Airway Adjunct, Suction and Splinting.....oh lordy!

Which means....there probably won't be an update until Friday. I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty nervous. I passed my hardest test with an 83 (only my 2nd B of the semester, I've gotten A's on everything else!)

The good news is that my Sugar Booger, Brian, will be running a testing station (not sure which one yet) so that makes me a little less nervous. Hopefully he can help me calm my nerves. Although, I might just see him and completely panic....let's hope not.

In other news, I'm doing a big fun Swap with Joy from The Vintage Rabbit and I am so excited! Joy is such a dear and I can't wait to send her some treasures I've found for her!

Enjoy the week!

7.20.2008

Swaps?

Does anyone do swaps?

I'm seriously in the mood for some swap-ness. I go antiquing all the time and find wonderful treasures and I'm curious....what do YOU find?

Anyone up for a little swap fun?

Get beck at me if you are....

7.18.2008

Why So Serious?

Brian and I saw The Dark Knight this afternoon. Holy cow! It was SOOO good. I want to see it again. We loved every minute of it. Go see it, seiously, you won't regret it.
Brian also passed his Paramedic practical skills test this afternoon. I'm so proud of that boy! I take my EMT sills test next Friday and I'm scared out of my mind. Ha ha. He's helping me study for it this week.
Haven't had much time to do anything online or crafty lately. Hopefully that will change after I pass my test. I'm looking forward to 4 weeks of me-time before heading into Paramedic Care 1 this fall.
But for now I'm loving...

3. The Vintage Rabbit - http://thevintagerabbit.typepad.com/
Check those out and enjoy!

Aww!

I got free tickets for Frontier City at work a few weeks ago. So, Brian and I decided to go on Tuesday afternoon. We had an alright time. I remember that place being way more fun when I was in high school and I worked there. A lot of the rides were closed, but we had an alright time.

I think we were only at the park for around 2 hours. Then we decided to go see Hancock. I haven't seen a Will Smith movie in forever. I'd give it a 5/10. It had a few good parts, but it wasn't anything award winning.
My friend Kara and I went to see one of our favorite bands, 2am, play last night at the Route 66 Road House. We had a great time and we can't wait to see 2am again!
Brian, on the other hand, went out with the guys last night for a Bachelor party.
We went apartment hunting all day yesterday. We looked all over the city, Moore and Norman. We found a few really nice ones. I think we're having a movie night tonight. Yay!
This Friday (18th) he's taking his skills test for his Paramedic license. Then we're going to see Batman! *yay!*
That's pretty much it. Nothing else new around these parts. Have a nice weekend!

EMS kids (part deux)

Took a few more pictures of my friends from class.

This beauty is my friend, Val. She's the funniest chick I know. And her kiddos, fun as hell. We were hanging out one afternoon and her 3 year old, Jonathan says, "Momma, can I have a douche bag?" and Val says, "He means, juice bag". Then she hamds him a Capri Sun (yum!) and he walks into the living room. Too funny! So now we call people we don't like "juice bags".

The boys. Well, 6 of them at least, the 2 on the left are Joe, Matt and Dustin. Then the middle two are Jason and Tyler and Jeremy is on the right with his back facing us.
Brittni on her phone and my best guy friend in the class, Kurtis. Isn't he just a doll? He's so sweet.

We learned how to deliver babies this week, so if you're pregnant, I can officially deliver your child, should you need my services. Ha ha. Let's just hope I don't have to do that for a while!

Who said school had to be boring? Even Paramedic students like to play dress-up!

These are "the girls". Val, Me, Brittni and Paula. We keep those 9 boys in line, that's for sure.

Check out my sweet open tib/fib fracture. Sweet, huh?

Another one of Tyler and Kurtis.

You're a Grand Ol' Flag

Happy 4th of July!

Are you doing anything fun for the 4th? No big plans around here, we're going to a party tonight at a friend's house. My sister and her friends may come over. Not sure really.

Have I mentioned that 4th of July is my favorite holiday? It seriously is. I love it SO much. BBQ, potato salas, deviled eggs, watermelon, ice cream sandwich dessert, fireworks, it's the best.

School is still great. I made an A on my last test. I've got another one to take on Monday over cardio, shocking patients, strokes, etc.

We triaged each other this past week. We brought out the moulage and fake wounds and dressed up and then had to "treat" eachother. Fun stuff, let me tell ya.

Curtis and Tyler. Curtis obviously has a laceration to the face and temple area and an evulsion in the abdomen. Tyler, on the other hand, has an arm injury.
Val has a broken clavicle and Brittni has 3rd degree burns to her arm, chest and hand. These girls are the BEST. We have such a good time together. Speaking of class, we toured our new building yesterday. Holy cow! It is SO nice. There is an ambulance in the building that we'll use to practice loading patients in and out of. We have a new EMS lab and ADL lab, classrooms, offices, etc. We'll share the building with PTA and OTA students. The nursing students are taking over our old labs and classrooms. It's going to be a nice change and I can't wait to start classes in the new building in August. So excited!
