What an eventful weekend it has been!
I got off work and came home to change because we had tickets to the Big 12 Baseball game at the Bricktown Ball park yesterday. It was a Nebraska/Texas game and what an exciting game it was. WAY more exciting than RedHawks games. More players on base, the fans were great and everything. The weather was fantastic and it was so fun.
So, we're at the game, Nebraska is at bat and I turned to tell my dad something and BAM! A Nebraska player hit a foul ball and it flew up to our suite's balcony and hit me smack in the left eye. I don't remember going back into the suite ro anything, but a RedHawks lady was there and was hollering for someone to get EMSA up to our suite. So, moments later EMSA is there and I've got ice packs on my eye. My mom is crying. The Paramedic is talking to another paramedic saying how bad it is and that I need to go to the hospital. So, I was escorted downstairs by two very nice EMSA men and then I was on my way to the Mercy Emergency room. While I was there I had a CatScan and something else done. The ER doctor had to get my contact our of my eye, but since I couuldn't open my eye, he had to get a male nurse in there to pry my eye open. AFter about 4 attempts, he got the contact out and had to do like, 3 tests on my eye. They don't think my face is fractured, but since my eye is so swollen, they're not sure if I have any eye damage. 4 hours later, I was back at home with some Loritab.
Hopefully the rest of the weekend will be far less eventful. To be honest, I'm very self conscious about my face. The entire left side is swollen and hard. I've got some slight bruising, but once the swelling goes down then my entire left side of my face is goin to bruise, according to the doctor. I'm quite scared about going to work especially since I work at a busy bank. I don't want people staring at me and thinking I'm deformed.
My mom, sister and I are getting pedicures tomorrow, so that wil be nice.
