Yikes!

It's been over a week since I last blogged?!? Holy cow! So sorry about that. I've been one busy little chick-a-dee lately. Lots and lots of school work to do. I had a paper due on Monday, one on Wednesday, one tomorrow, and 2 on Monday. Plus next week is midterms! Yup, it's that time again, I've got 2 tests next Friday. Wowzers! See? I told you.

I also start my new schedule at work on Monday. Yea, I'm a little excited about it, I'll be honest. Finally settling into a new routine.

So, in honor of all my hard work, I decided to spoil myself a little bit. Look at what I bought off Etsy. Isn't it beautiful? *sigh* I'm madly in love with it. I've already started mentally pairing it with different outfits. So super cute!

Also, this afternoon my mom and I went and got manicures and pedicures. Look at my pretty little tootsies! (I don't normally take pictures of my feet, but my french pedicure looks so great, I just couldn't help myself!)

Go do something fun this weekend and think happy thoughts for me. I'll be spending this gorgeous 70 degree weekend inside writing about the history of Canada and the history of the witch hunts.

Enjoy!

This Week....

This week is so exhausting. Seriously. Papers due, tests, quizzes, lots of reading....blah.

I'm an obsessive compulsive list maker. When I find my mind wandering in class I make lists. Crazy, I know. Lists of vacation places, groceries, things I need to do, upcoming assignments, and stuff like that.

I'm working in the ER on Saturday night. It's my last shift before I start my new schedule and my last SCHEDULED weekend shift. The good news is that starting March 3rd, I'll work on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4pm-2am and I can pick up Saturdays if I feel like it. Isn't that fabulous? Plus I'll get the little perks like benefits and PTO. Nice, huh?

Who's been watching American Idol? Got any favorites? I like the hot Australian guy. The guy that played the guitar last night with the dreadlocks was surprisingly good too. I can't wait to see the girls sing tonight and see who I like from the girls' group.

Okay, I should get off here and work on my Spanish homework. Hasta manana!

Stylin'

I got the COOLEST shoes ever. Seriously. I'm in love with them.

Mine are the brown/coral ones.

I feel like I'm walking on a soft marshmallow (okay, that might be a bit dramatic) But seriously, they're great.

Off to Pei Wei for dinner and shopping with Jessica!

Schedule Schmedule

My schedule for last week. It may not look like much, but it felt overwhelming. Lots of Spanish homework (have I mentioned how much I loathe Spanish?) Although a friend of mine taugh me how to say bad words in Spanish, so that made it a little bit cooler.

This week's schedule isn't looking much better. I had a paper due today for my African American History class about the Plessy v. Ferguson court case. I also had a Spanish test today. I have a quiz on Wednesday in my History of the Witch Hunt class. Have I mentioned that I have Spanish homework EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT? Yea, I do, it's crazy, I know.

I'm decorating my notebook for class. I'm sick of the plain boring notebooks, so I need to glam mine up a bit in true shabby glam style. Prepare to be amazed, ladies!

Okay, I better get going. I have to read an article for class.

Hello my darlings! Don't you just love Valentine's Day? It's a celebration of love! I just love everything about Valentine's Day. Lots of pink and red, sparkles, and kisses! *sigh* I'm mushy, I know it. I love making Valentines. There's just something so special and sweet about home made valentines.

This Valentine's Day finds me single, and I'm okay with that (finally). I'll be spending the day at school taking a Nutrition test and then getting ready for my first Spanish test on Monday and then at a doctor's appointment. Nothing romantic about that at. all. I got some really cute Valentines stuff for my sister and my mom. 2 cute picture frames from Target and little pink and red odds and ends. I'm pretty sure they'll like them.

Just wanted to pop in and wish you all a magical love filled day!
Smooches!

Hi there. Are you ready for Tuesday? Today is my short day at school, 9:00-11:30. Then I plan on coming home and taking a nap, or making something from Teresa's Sweet Bella e-zine. But, I'll probably go with the nap though.

Speaking of Sweet Bella.....did you see the project from yesterday? *ahem* Yup, I helped Corrine make those! I was the official silver platter holder while she drilled. Very important job, I might add.

I better get going, I have class soon!

Talk to you later!

Friday Night Fun

Yay it's fianlly Saturday! Oh wait....I have to work all day today and all day tomorrow.....uh oh. No fun!

I had a great night last night, which was much needed since this week was a week from hell (my dog died, school, work, etc) Jason took off work at 3 and we hit some antique stores on Western. We went into this really cool estate jewelry place too. Jason collects watches and he was drooling over some cool Rolex and Citizen watches. Me, on the other hand, I was further down looking at all of the pretty rings. The first ring I picked up was just gorgeous. It was a square diamond and it just sparkled. Probably the most beautiful thing I've ever touched. Price? Try $22,500! Yes, seriously. I put that one back and asked to look at another one, a 1930's 1.3 carat ring. Let me just say, I love vintage jewelry. There's something about that ring that made me melt into a little puddle right there on the floor. *sigh* It was perfect and around $8,000.

We had our date at Incredible Pizza. What a fun place. It was swarming with kids, but I'm so glad we went. We ate pizza in the "Starlight Room" while watching old Elvis movies. It was the least noisy of the rooms and had the least amount of kids in there! *lol* Then we went to the arcade section and let me tell you, the competition was ON. He beat me in pretty much everything, except for "Percussion Master" and skiball. Percussion Master is pretty much the best game ever. No kidding. It's like Guitar Hero only you're banging on this drum thing. Plus, the best part of that game is the music choice they've got. We chose all 80's music, "Beat It" was definitely our favorite. Needless to say, I spanked him at that. He beat me at everything else. "Whack a Mole" and we shot hoops for the basketball game for a good 30 minutes. I think we ended with 211 tickets, and we just gave them all to this little boy. He seriously thought he won the lottery or something. Awww. Hopefully he got something good with those tickets!

I think I'm going to make him cookies this week and bring them to him at work on Valetines. He'll be so surprised!

Okay, well, I better start getting ready for my fun day at work today. Can you sense my sarcasm? I'm looking forward to Monday....I'm getting a new desk for my room! More on that later!

Smooches!

Finally!

Isn't it cute? It's not quite done yet, I still need to add the ribbon so I can hang it on the wall, but I'm majorly loving this cute canvas. I put my own little spin on it from Teresa's Winter Bella. Isn't that peony so pretty? I love it.

A little update...

Our little girl didn't make it.

They took her to surgery this morning around 11:30. Opened her up and her liver was 2 times the size it was supposed to be and literally falling apart from cancer. We are devastated. She's at home now, with us and we'll be having a little funeral probably tomorrow.

My mom is just beside herself. Whitney and I are upset too, but my dad is a mess. He puts on a brave face, but he broke down 3 times today.

We love you Frankie!

A little prayer...

This is Frankie. One of our 4 daschunds. She's 11 years old and right now, she's very very sick. I came home from school today and he had an accident on the tile in the laundry room. She was just acting weird and my parents took her to the vet. She's spending tonight in the animal ER. The vet there gave her a 50/50 chance. They think her stomach or intestine is blocked, but can't find anything to describe it on x-ray.
We are heartbroken and so upset over the thought of losing her. We got her (and Cricket) when I was in 6th grade, about 2 weeks before Christmas. We're hoping for the best right now, but we're just not sure what's going to happen. So, if you're the praying type, please say one for sweet Frankie, or just send some happy thoughts this way.

Sunday at the Antique Store....

Going through pictures on my computer this afternoon I found my little girl, Maggie. She loves playing in the flowers. Isn't that precious?

Went antiquing with Corrine today. Found some great things, this blue shutter for one. It matches my room perfectly!
A ton of old costume jewelry my mom gave me. (plus the 3 pieces I bought today)
A few of my favorite pieces....
