My dad is SO sweet!

So...here's the Doodlebug house....

Let my just say how sorely dissappointed I am in this. The adhesive strips on this house do not hold. Notice the roof top coming away from the base. One half of the wall kept coming apart too. I worked for about 2 hours on this house last night, cutting the template, cutting paper, reading directions, folding, adhering, re-reading the directions. It was a big let down. *Hence the face of pure dissappointment* I went to bed a very sad girl....

Fast forward to this morning.....I'm snuggling with my puppy on the couch and I her my dad say, "So, your house turned out pretty good" I replied with, "It's too early for sarcasm dad" and he had it in his hand. HE FIXED IT after I went to bed. Isn't that the sweetest thing ever?!?!

Look at that! The roof is on properly and the walls are sturdy!!!

My dad is the best!!!!! Thanks for fixing my house dad!

Super Saturday

Work was great today. I finished the mother's day book and made a garland with my last name on it. SO stinkin cute!

I bought a doodlebug house kit today and assembled it tonight. Pictures and a review of the product will be up tomorrow.

My dad and I went out for dinner with two of our neighbors tonight, the Radfords. They're very nice people. We went to Interurban.

Tomorrow night I'm having a study group with Chris, Quentin and Desiree. So, hopefully we can get some good study time in. I need to finish my Child Psychology take home final too. I'm not subbing on Monday so I can get this down.

Alright, I'm off to bed....toodles.

Whew!

I tried logging in to update this, but it said "password incorrect" twice. I was beginning to panic, but luckily, I remembered it.

Sooo....did you watch Grey's last night? It was awesome. Such drama going on. I want George and Izzy to get together. I can't wait for Burke and Christina's wedding, and I knew Meredith should have picked the Vet and not McDreamy. Remember, the Vet said, "He'll break your heart again, and when he does, I won't be there". I'm beginning to really not like Callie. I feel bad for Addison because she likes Dr. Karev and he's clueless.

Anyway....finals this next week. I'm pretty excited/sad about that. I really will miss my European History group. Quentin, Desiree, Chris and myself....we're pretty awesome.

I had some really rotten kids today. I sent 3 of them to the office. They were just terrible. We were watching "Contact" today. I don't like showing movies because I stop around the same point every hour and I don't get to finish the movie.

My mom is leaving tomorrow morning for Washington D.C. She'll be there for a week. It sucks having her gone during finals week. Ususally she leaves me a little note saying "Good luck on your test" or soemthing along those lines. *Isn't she SO sweet?!?!* I'm in college, and I still love getting little notes like that.

I'm working at The Paper Crown this weekend. SO excited about that. Hopefully I'll meet some more of the lovely ladies that come in to shop.

My necklace that I ordered off Etsy came in yesterday. Look for me wearing a pendant with an owl on it.

Only one more day of lecture and then it's time to take finals. I'm taking a child psychology test on Thursday and I've got an Oklahoma History quiz to make up. I hate those snow and ice days, (Well, I liked them when that meant I didn't have to go to school, but now I have to make all that crap up).

The storms today were kinda scary. I'm not a fan of thunder and at school is was pouring and thundering ALL afternoon.

I'm subbing at the high school tomorrow for Family and Consumer Sciences. I've subbed for this class a few time. They're pretty good kids. So, tomorrow should be a piece of cake.

I'm working on a new project. I need to get it painted before I give you a sneak peek, but let me just tell you this....it's FAB-YOU-LUS!

Hi Ho Hi Ho....

It's off to school I go.....

Blah, not in the mood for school today. I've got some quizzes to take today for Oklahoma History. Freakin yuck.

So excited about American Idol tonight....I think the theme is inspirational music. Should be a good one!

Spring is here

Isn't it gorgeous outside today? It's a bit cloudy, but still nice, nonetheless.

Guess who had a date last night? ME!

I went out with Leslie and her sister Stephanie last night. We went to Charleston's and James was our waiter. (James is friends with my sister). He was flirting with me the entire time. He's a cutie pie *wink* So, anyway we get done and leave and I'm over at Kim's getting her paper so I can turn it in for her tomorrow (she's going to Vegas....lucky little duck!). Anyway, I sent James a text and he asked me to come hang out with him and a few friends that night. So, I got home at 10:15 from Kim's and then left my house at 10:40 to drive to this bar in Moore called "Moose" on 104th and Western. It was me, James, Jade (my sister used to date him) and Jade's girlfriend Samantha. So, we had a good time. James is super sweet. He's definitley a keeper.

I got home at 2:30 and pretty much haven't done anything today. I ran to the bank and I've been studying for Oklahoma History all afternoon.

Oh, guess what happened about an hour ago? So, I'm sitting at the kitchen table and I hear this huge crash in my parents' bedroom. I'm home alone and all 4 puppies are sacked out on the living room floor. So, I know they didn't cause the crash. They wake up and start barking like crazy in front of my parents' bedroom door. I'm not going to lie, I was scared shitless. So, I'm thinking...."if there is someone in the house, they're going to get me". I snapped into defense mode and I grabbed a handgun. (See? I know going to the gun range with my dad would pay off) I snapped in a clip and made my way down the hallway. I turned the knob on the door and threw open the door and the window had fallen in, but the screen was still on the window. No robber. I unloaded the gun and put it away and attempted to fix the window. We have those windows that you can tilt back for easy cleaning, I don't think my mom snapped it back in yesterday after she cleaned them. Anyway, problem solved. I was almost a badass gun toting ninja. Thank heavens I didn't have to use it!

Sheryl Crow came out with her brilliant idea to fight global warming....use 1 square of toilet paper per bathroom visit. Brilliant idea Sheryl. You're one smart cookie. *rolls eyes*

Alright, I'm off to finish studying! Bye!

**UPDATE**

Just got back from shopping and I got some CUTE stuff. 5 new shirts and 2 pairs of flip flops. WOO HOO! Now all I have to do is wait for Etsy to get back up so I can buy matching jewelry.

While I was at the mall I saw Jason White. He's really tall. Well, not really tall, I mean, I'm only 5'3", so everyone seems pretty tall compared to me.

I'm going out with my friend Leslie tonight. I haven't seen her in forever, so I'm looking forward to catching up with her.

I also need to get a graduation present for my friend Meaghan. She loves jewelry and things, so I want to get her something from Etsy too. I'm obsessed with that place. It's my favorite!

Happy Sunday Morning!

I'm addicted to http://www.etsy.com It's wonderful. I bought 2 things yesterday and they're FAB! I can't wait to get them! I think what I like most is the fact that everything is unique. You won't be wearing something around campus and have someone else wearing the same thing. LOVE THAT.

I stopped by The Paper Crown yesterday to say hi to Cheri and grab a few things. Then I went out to the mall and did a bit of shopping. I got 2 shirts and a necklace, then I got home and realized the shirts were HUGE. Therefore, I'll be returning them today. I'm one of those people who HATES trying on clothes. So, I'll just grab something and take it to the register. Big mistake.

This is the last week of classes before finals and boy am I ready. I'm subbing middle school drama tomorrow and high school family and consumer sciences on Wednesday. I'm sure I can pick something up for Friday. I also got a phone call last week asking if I would be interested in a long term sub job. There's only about a month left of school, but maybe someone is having a baby or surgery. Long term subs get paid big $$ since they have to make up the lessons, grade papers, discipline, etc. I hope they pick me!

Alright, I'm off to get ready. I've got lots to do today! I'll post pictures of what I bought of Etsy later today (their server is down for maintenance right now) and I'll post pictures of the fabulous Mother's Day Book.

I'm obsessed

I know this is a tad bit old, but I'm obsessed with the OK GO! video for "Here We Go Again". You. Must. Watch. It. It'll be the happiest 3 minutes and 4 seconds of your life.

Oh, here's the stuff for the Mother's Day Mini Book... Super cute, huh?

4.18.2007

My first class

I'm teaching my first class! I'm so excited about it. It's a Mother's Day Mini Book using "Fresh" from College Press and some fun funky and "fresh" embellishments I've got staghed around here.

I found some gorgeous sheer purple ribbon with white dots on it and some other ribbon that goes from light purple to light blue and it matches the paper perfectly! I also found this darling little charm that says "I love to Quilt" and since this book is for my mom I'm adding that to her book. I bought the charm because she wanted to do a charm bracelet, but never got around to doing it, so I've had the cahrm for a while now and just pulled it out and decided to use it in my book.

I can't get pictures to upload on here right now, but keep your eyes peeled and I'll try to get some up soon!

4.16.2007

Taking my own sweet time....

All done! The book review is over. I'm going to be straight forward, it is by no means my best work. As a matter of fact, I think it sucks big time. However, it's done and that's all that matters.

I'm going out with James tomorrow night. So exciting. We're going to the Redhawks game. I just hope it's not nasty and rainy.

Off to make something of the scrapbooking nature. I haven't scrapped in forever and it's been killing me.

I'll post pictures later...

4.13.2007

What a Day!

The new store is amazing. We had everything out of the old store by 3:30 and by 4:15 we were already situating paper and working on the ribbon wall at The Paper Crown. Talk about exciting! I've got ideas for my first class in the works, let me just say that it's going to be awesome. I've also got lots of pictures to post and I'm making a mini-book for the new store to document our big move.

I'm off to take a hot relaxing bath and get ready for some serious decorating tomorrow. Toodles!

4.12.2007

It's time!

The big move is here! Goodbye 7 Minutes Later! We'll miss you!

What's new around here?

How cute is this candle holder? I found it on Saturday when my mom and I went on the hunt for home decorating stuff. I found it at some antique store. It's so stinkin cute (and pretty heavy). I'm donating it to the NEW Paper Crown. I think it'll fit in just perfectly, don't you?
Something else I found that I had to get. The colors are perfect, don't you think?
They're up! Remember the giant spoon and fork we got from Pottery Barn? They're finally up! I love them and they look so great in the kitchen.
Another new addition. These sconces are in the dining room and they're filled with these gorgeous fake flowers that my mom is obsessed with. They look so real, so that's a plus, because I'm not a big fan of fake flowers.
Busy busy this week. I'm ready for this week and next Tuesday to be over. I've got a European history test Thursday and next Tuesday my Karl Marx book review is due.

I got my purse from Donna today and it's great. She used Basic Grey Lily Kate on it and it's filled with lots of goodies. Mine is going out tomorrow full of treats! LOVE IT!

4.08.2007

Hoppy Easter

It's a cheesy title, I know.

I got so much accomplished this afternoon! Math project #4 DONE! Child Psychology project DONE! Woo hoo! I also jotted down some notes for my Oklahoma History article review.

My to do list for tomorrow includes:
-writing Oklahoma history article
-write 2 essays for European History
-read Karl Marx book for European history book reivew

I'm teaching 11th grade English tomorrow and they're watching a video, so hopefully I can use that time to get some work done.

I started a cross stitch project yesterday around 11:00 when I got home from Norman. I forgot how much I enjoy cross stitching.

Speaking of Norman though, we went out for Meaghan's birthday. She got a free birthday shot at O'Connell's. I had Michelob Ultra and Julie had a Dr. Pepper (poor thing isn't 21 yet!) I also tried Boulevard Wheat Beer. It's SO good. You need to have a lemon with it though, so make sure you have lemons on hand.

Alright, off to bed!

4.02.2007

250?!?!

I've reached 250 posts! That's insane.

Just a few pictures of things happening around here.

We have this gorgeous creek in our back yard. From the center of the creek to the banks, it's about 12-15 feet deep. This is right up at the bank. If you look closely (left center) you can see a handrail that's leading to the creek. My neighbor is a masonry man, so he built some concrete stairs which were COMPLETELY covered with water. There was also a bridge that he built and the entire bridge was washed away. If you look to the right center, you can see a carved wooden bear holding his ground among the raging waters.

My dad's latest toy, a Polaris Ranger. (He ordered two more) Maggie and I decided to take it for a quick spin around the Westin Ranch. Surprisingly enough, she did really well sitting in it. I thought she would be SO scared, but she just sat by me the entire time. What a good girl.

Little one got tuckered out. I think it's so funny how her paws are straight out when she sleeps. Like that quilt? My mom made it.

Speaking of Quilts my mom makes.....this is my Easter present. Isn't it gorgeous?!?! I picked out the fabric and the pattern (I'm a traditional block person). LOVE IT! Thanks mom!

Stay beautiful, baby

Just a few of the pages I made for my friend Desiree's book. Aren't they so cute? I left space so she could do her own journaling.

I've come to the conclusion that....

Kar Marx is absolutely insane. (I'm reading about him for my European history class)
What a fun crazy weekend it has been.
I worked at 7 Minutes Later on Saturday. We had a whole bunch of new goodies in, so I stayed pretty busy with all the ladies coming by. Something else cool happened, I met my first ever male scrapbooker!!! He came in and bought 2 sheets of paper. (they were masculine paper of course) but still paper none-the-less. I didn't catch his name, but we chatted for a bit, he was so stinkin nice! He said we have a "really classy store" and that he would definitely be back. It's so cool to see guys in your hobby as well.

Today has been pretty relaxing. I slept in and then ran to Sam's and Garden Ridge with my mom. Then I drove te Polaris Ranger outside while my dad sprayed for weeds (Maggie sat by me while I was driving. Pictures to come soon!) We watched the NASCAR race and now I'm blogging before I have to finish reading about Marx and his Socialist/Communist views. I really feel like I'm learning a lot in this class. Moreso than I originally thought I would learn.
I went out with Jessica last night. We ran to Norman and I showed her OU's campus. I love it down there. It's so gorgeous. The buildings are a 1920's gothic style (with gargoyles!!!) The Law building has a green own on top. Too cool. Here are just a few pictures from around the campus.

Green owl in the Law Building Old mailboxes in Gittinger Hall. I so want one of these

Writing on the wall in Kaufman Hall. I found this extremely hilarious.
